Dr. Middlebrook’s clinical interests include psychological assessment of emotional, behavioral, and learning problems in children with a specific interest in ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental delays. He developed social skills training programs, summer camps for children with academic problems, and has been an advocate for children and families while serving on the board of directors of various child advocacy organizations.
He has held multiple positions in academic settings including instructor, program director, and Associate Dean where he developed new programs, presided over the development of 20+ new courses, and ensured the alignment of program learning outcomes to meet accrediting standards. His academic experience includes affiliations with the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, Georgia State University, Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine, and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at Walden University.
His corporate experience includes management consulting with a national consulting firm as well as providing training and development for Science Advisors affiliated with the Office of Naval Research. He has delivered consulting expertise to companies across the country and given over 100 training presentations in the areas of Process Improvement, Organizational Structure, Interpersonal Communication Skills, Negotiation Skills, Conflict Management, Behavioral Assessments, Leadership Development, and Employee Development.
Dr. Middlebrook received his BA degree in Psychology from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, his MS and Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, and completed his clinical internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center.
