Dr. Zamira Castro is a licensed psychologist who provides comprehensive psychological assessment for complex clinical, legal, medical, and administrative referral questions. Licensed in Florida and New York and authorized through PSYPACT, she provides psychodiagnostic, cognitive, neuropsychological, disability-related, and forensic psychological evaluations. Dr. Castro earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami and completed postdoctoral training in adult outpatient behavioral medicine within Jackson Health System/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with embedded training in consultation-liaison psychology on inpatient psychiatric units and medical floors.
Dr. Castro has extensive experience conducting legally and administratively relevant assessments, including evaluations for immigration proceedings, disability determinations, and other third-party decision-making contexts. Her immigration work includes performing evaluation for claims of extreme hardship, asylum, VAWA, U and T visas, cancellation of removal, N-648 disability exceptions, and other complex matters. Her current work also includes independent and forensic psychological evaluations, complemented by advanced training in forensic assessment.
Dr. Castro has particular expertise in culturally and linguistically responsive assessment. She is fluent in English and Spanish and also provides services in French, with careful attention to cultural, linguistic, and educational factors that may influence psychological assessment.
