What is individual therapy?
Individual therapy is one-on-one treatment with a licensed clinician. Sessions usually run 50 minutes, weekly or every other week. At FC PsychExperts it uses evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR and trauma-focused therapy, matched to your goals.
Is therapy at FC PsychExperts confidential?
Yes. What you share in individual therapy is confidential and protected under Florida law and HIPAA, with the narrow legal exceptions every licensed clinician must follow, such as risk of serious harm. Your therapist explains these in your first session.
How fast can I get a first appointment in Palm Beach County?
First appointments are usually available within the same week. Call (561) 834-5849 Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM, or send the form on this page and the office calls you back within 1 business day.
Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?
Yes. Individual therapy is available in person at the Jupiter office and by secure video for anyone located in Florida.
Do you accept insurance for individual therapy?
Fees and insurance options are confirmed when you call. If your plan is out of network, the office can provide a superbill so you can request reimbursement from your insurer.
Who will I work with?
Individual therapy is led by Jessica T. Aloise, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience, within a practice of doctoral-level psychologists founded by Dr. Cathy Colet in 2008.
How long does individual therapy take?
It depends on your goals. Many people notice change within 6 to 12 sessions for a focused concern such as anxiety or a life transition. Deeper or trauma-related work often takes longer. You and your therapist review progress together and decide the pace.
How do I know if I need individual therapy?
Common signs: low mood, worry or irritability lasting more than 2 weeks; changes in sleep or appetite; getting through the day but feeling emptied out; the same conflict repeating across relationships; a past event that still intrudes on the present; or having thought about calling a therapist more than once. If 2 or more apply, a free 15-minute call at (561) 834-5849 is a reasonable next step.
Should I choose in-person or online therapy in Palm Beach County?
Both use the same licensed clinician and the same confidentiality. In-person sessions at the Jupiter office (210 Jupiter Lakes Blvd) suit clients in northern Palm Beach County and those doing EMDR. Secure video suits clients south of West Palm Beach, frequent travelers, or anyone who needs a lunch-break slot. Many clients start in person and switch to video after 2 or 3 sessions.
What areas of Palm Beach County do you serve?
The Jupiter office serves all of Palm Beach County, including Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, Juno Beach, Tequesta, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton. Virtual sessions are available anywhere in Florida.
