Court Ordered Therapy In Jupiter, FL

A judge signed something, and now you have a deadline. Most people who call us have never been in therapy and can’t tell from the order whether they need an evaluation or a weekly clinician. Those are two different buildings and two different bills. We read the order on the first call and tell you which one you’re in.

  • Florida licence PY9058, practising since 2008
  • Court-appointed in 5 judicial circuits
  • Attendance, progress summary, completion letter
  • Office at 210 Jupiter Lakes Blvd

Quick answer: Court ordered therapy in Jupiter, FL is counseling a judge, probation officer, dependency case plan or parenting plan requires you to complete. At FC PsychExperts, Florida-licensed clinicians deliver it at 210 Jupiter Lakes Blvd and provide dated attendance records, progress summaries and a completion letter, released only to the people your order and your signed release name. We cover individual counseling, anger and emotional regulation, co-parenting, reunification, dependency family therapy and post-evaluation treatment. We are not a DCF-certified batterers’ intervention program and not a DCF-approved parent education course provider, and we say so on the first call rather than after you book. Call (561) 870-0411.

Three Answers You Need On The First Call

Evaluation or treatment? Two doors, one paper.

The county’s court psychology office performs evaluations, and only on a court order. It never becomes your weekly counselor. If your order says counseling, anger management, co-parenting or reunification, you are hiring a private clinician instead.

Which courthouse is mine?Usually north.

Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach and Palm Beach Gardens matters are generally set at North County on PGA Boulevard, not downtown. Measure your drive from there before you pick anyone.

What reaches the judge?Three documents, nothing else.

A dated attendance log, a progress summary written in plain language for a legal reader, and a completion letter on letterhead. Your signed release decides who receives them.

The distinction that decides everything else

Is Your Order For An Evaluation Or For Treatment?

Read the order before you call anyone. Most people assume court ordered therapy means sitting with a county psychologist every week until a judge signs off. Palm Beach County isn’t built that way.

The county’s court psychology office performs evaluations, and only on a court order. Competency. Delinquency and dependency assessments. Domestic-violence risk. Intellectual disability. It does not become anyone’s weekly counselor, and there is no pathway to make it one.

So if your order says psychological evaluation, you are headed into that county pipeline and this page is orientation rather than a service pitch.

If your order says individual counseling, anger management, substance treatment, co-parenting or reunification therapy, you are hiring a private licensed clinician who will read the order and write to the court. That is what we do.

We watch people lose a week to this confusion. They call an evaluation office asking about weekly sessions, get told no, and assume they have been turned down. They haven’t. They were in the wrong line.

One more thing the order language hides. A county evaluation and a private forensic psychological evaluation are not the same product either, and which one your order contemplates changes who pays and how long it takes.

The trap nobody puts on a therapy page

What The County Evaluation Process Costs You In Time

We are not going to publish anyone’s fee schedule, including our own. The shape of the process matters more, because that is what breaks deadlines.

Here is the part that ends cases. The county’s sample evaluation order requires payment in certified funds, a cashier’s check or money order made out to the county. Not a card. Not a payment plan. And no appointment gets scheduled until the money is received.

Payment is due within 10 days of the order. The evaluation itself has to finish within 90. Spend 3 weeks arranging certified funds and you have burned a quarter of your window before anyone has met you.

Day 0

The order is signed

Your clock starts here, not on the day you get around to reading it. Everything below counts from this date.

Within 10 days

Payment is due

Certified funds only, payable to the county. Banks need lead time for a cashier’s check, so start this the same week.

After funds clear

Scheduling opens

Not before. This is the step people assume runs in parallel with payment, and it does not.

Within 90 days

Evaluation completed

The whole assessment has to be finished inside the window the order sets, however long the earlier steps took.

If a hearing needs it

Testimony is separate

Billed by the hour on top, with an advance covering preparation and the first hour. The judge decides who pays.

And read this line on the form, because it surprises people. The listed issues are suicide potential, violence potential, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse and mental health problems. The form then says, in parentheses, do not include timesharing, custody or residential placement.

That is worth sitting with. A county psychological evaluation is not a custody evaluation. If you walked in expecting a document that tells the judge where your child should live, you ordered the wrong thing.

Check the notice before you drive

Where Does A Jupiter Case Actually Get Heard?

Every Palm Beach County page on the internet points you mentally to downtown West Palm Beach. If you live north, your practical building is usually North County.

Your likely courthouse
3188 PGA Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. · Family court · Mental health · Guardianship · Domestic violence injunctions

The county runs evaluations at that location along with the Main, South and West County courthouses. Always check your own notice, because some matters are still set downtown.

  • In person from Jupiter, plus Tequesta, Juno Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach and Lake Park.
  • By secure video anywhere in Florida your order permits telehealth. Send the order and we confirm before the first appointment rather than after.
  • Open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with scheduling worked around hearing dates.

Matters set at a different courthouse run through the same clinicians and the same paperwork: see court ordered therapy across Palm Beach County.

Parents read this one twice

Either parent, usually. The statute is more specific than the parenting blogs suggest.

Florida Statute 61.13(2)(b)3.a. provides that if the court orders shared parental responsibility over health care decisions, either parent may consent to mental health treatment for the child unless the parenting plan says otherwise. The 2023 amendment made that the default and gave judges a way to write the opposite into the plan.

It cuts both directions. If your plan is silent, one parent can generally start a child in treatment without the other’s signature. If your plan is silent, the other parent can too, and you may find out after the fact.

Actually, that framing isn’t quite right. The better way to put it is that the parenting plan is the controlling document, not the statute. We ask for the plan at intake and read the health care paragraph before the first session, because the statute only tells us what happens when the plan is quiet.

Florida appellate courts have sent judgments back for leaving that paragraph out entirely. If yours is missing it, that is a conversation with your attorney rather than with us.

Priced and staged differently for a reason

Why Is Reunification Therapy A Different Product?

Because it isn’t 50 minutes in a room, and treating it like ordinary family therapy is how these cases stall. Reunification runs in stages, not sessions.

  1. Consultation with both parents, and their attorneys if they are involved.
  2. Separate assessments of each parent and the child.
  3. Graduated contact, starting with phone or video before anyone meets in person.
  4. Family sessions with parent coaching alongside.
  5. A closing report to the court.

Now the contrarian part. Half the pages in this vertical list allegations of abuse as a reason to start court ordered therapy. That is backwards. Reunification work screens abuse and neglect out before it starts.

If safety is still an open question in your case, reunification is the wrong product, and a clinician who takes the case anyway is doing you harm. We would rather tell you that on the phone than 6 sessions in. Sometimes the honest answer is that a case needs an assessment first, not contact.

A vague order helps nobody

What Makes A Court Order Enforceable?

Specificity. A vague order is unenforceable against you, and it is also unenforceable for you.

In Ford v. Ford, Florida’s Fourth District threw out a therapy requirement that ran until the mother could change her children’s attitude toward her. The endpoint depended on somebody else’s feelings instead of a measurable standard. The court left other findings alone and vacated that one.

Florida civil contempt still needs 4 things: a clear order, knowledge of it, present ability to comply, and a willful failure.

So if your order says only attend therapy, nobody can enforce it and nobody can certify you are finished. Ask your attorney to make the next one boring: provider type, session frequency, who pays, what gets reported, and what ends it. We can tell you what a clinician is able to document. We cannot draft the order, and nothing on this page is legal advice.

People use these names interchangeably. Courts do not.

Marchman, Baker, Dependency And “Go To Counseling” Are 4 Different Doors

If your paperwork carries one of these names, do not assume a private outpatient clinician in Jupiter satisfies it. Bring the paperwork to the first call.

Marchman Act

Chapter 397
What it is
The substance track, started by petition
The clock on it
Written assessment to the court within 5 days, treatment hearing within 10 days of that report, and a magistrate can order a minimum of 60 days of treatment
Worth knowing
These are not locked facilities. Walking out can put you back in front of the judge, and the Sheriff’s Office handles service and pickup

Baker Act

Chapter 394
What it is
The mental health emergency track
The clock on it
Up to 72 hours for examination, and if placement is authorized, up to 6 months
Worth knowing
A completely separate statute from Marchman, with different criteria and a different hearing path

Dependency treatment court

15th Circuit
What it is
A structured, team-based program for parents in the dependency system working toward reunification
The clock on it
Measured against your case plan review dates, with treatment and testing running alongside
Worth knowing
The early childhood version serves ages 0 to 5 and uses its own models

Chapter 39 orders

Dependency
What it is
The authority that lets a dependency judge require a parent to complete assessment and treatment
The clock on it
Set by the case plan rather than by a fixed statutory session count
Worth knowing
A cleaner grant of authority than the long argument over how far a divorce judge can push a parent into open-ended therapy under Chapter 61

Batterers’ intervention

We cannot take this
What it is
A DCF-certified group program, not weekly talk therapy
The clock on it
Set by the certified provider you enrol with
Can we satisfy it
No. We hold no such certification and will point you to the state list on the first call

Parent education course

We cannot take this
What it is
The Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course from a DCF-approved provider
The clock on it
Set by the approved provider, and separate from any therapy your order also requires
Can we satisfy it
No. We are not on that list
The part that decides whether you are finished

What You Receive For The Court

Most therapy practices have never written for a legal reader. Reports and testimony are the larger half of what this practice does, and your paperwork inherits that habit: dated, specific, and silent on anything nobody asked about.

  • Attendance record. Session by session, dated, over your clinician’s signature. Yours on request, any time, without explaining why you want it.
  • Progress summary. The requirement, the dates, the goals, where you stand today. Written without clinical shorthand and without comment on your legal matter.
  • Completion letter. Names the requirement and the period, confirms it was met, signed by a Florida-licensed clinician on practice letterhead.
  • Released only as you direct. Your attorney, probation, the court, or you alone. The release you sign at intake is the whole list, and nothing travels outside it.

Our Commitments, And Our Refusals

You did not choose to be here. We are not going to pretend you did, and we are not going to make the process heavier than the order already makes it.

You can count on

  • A straight answer on the first call about whether your order is one we can satisfy.
  • The correct state list or county office when the answer is no.
  • Being treated as a client, not as a docket number or a defendant.
  • Written notice at intake of exactly what leaves this office and what stays in it.
  • Your own attendance record handed over whenever you ask for it.
  • Scheduling built around your hearing date rather than around ours.

We refuse to

  • Accept an order we cannot meet and let you discover that at the next hearing.
  • Describe ourselves as a DCF-certified batterers’ program. We hold no such certification.
  • Put a signature on a completion letter covering sessions nobody attended.
  • Send the court anything your order and your release do not already cover.
  • Suggest what a judge will decide. That is not ours to promise and we will say so plainly.
  • Let the clinician treating you also write the evaluation about you.

Who You’ll Work With In Jupiter

A forensic psychologist sets the standard the documentation has to meet, and an experienced clinician does the actual therapy. That pairing is the point, and it is why the roles never collapse into one person here.

When Money Is The Real Obstacle

Palm Beach County runs free individual therapy and groups for crime victims at courthouse locations, including some after-hours slots.

The county also operates a 24/7 referral line that can route you to reduced-cost options, and there are limited United Way-funded programs offering short-term therapy for qualifying residents with mild to moderate symptoms.

None of those are forensic substitutes. If your order calls for an evaluation or a specialized program, a general counseling slot will not satisfy it. But if the order is ordinary outpatient work and the budget is gone, they are real bridges and we would rather you use one than miss a deadline.

There is no public 15th Circuit approved therapist roster. We looked. Acceptance is practical rather than credentialed: a Florida licence, a clinician willing to read your order, and a file the court can live with. That is it. Any practice claiming to be on an approved list is describing something that does not exist.

If your order names a certified batterers’ intervention program or the state parenting course, start from the state’s certified list rather than from a search result.

Settle these before you book anything

The Checklist We Wish Someone Had Handed You

  1. Read the order out loud. Evaluation or treatment? Whose name is on it? How many sessions? Who pays? What gets filed, and with whom?
  2. If it is an evaluation, budget the time as tightly as the money. Certified funds take days and nothing is scheduled until they clear.
  3. If it is treatment, hire a clinician who puts reporting turnaround in writing before the first session.
  4. If a child is involved, read the health care paragraph of your parenting plan before intake.
  5. If the word is reunification, ask about screening and staging rather than session count.
  6. Check your notice for North County at 3188 PGA Blvd before you drive to West Palm Beach.
  7. If someone stops attending, fix the order before filing anything. A vague order cannot be enforced.

Court Ordered Therapy In Jupiter FAQ

What Is Court Ordered Therapy In Jupiter, FL?

Court ordered therapy in Jupiter, FL is counseling that a judge, probation officer, dependency case plan or parenting plan requires you to complete. A Florida-licensed clinician delivers the treatment and documents your attendance and progress for the court. FC PsychExperts provides it at 210 Jupiter Lakes Blvd and has worked with Florida courts since 2008.

Is My Order For An Evaluation Or For Therapy?

Read the wording. If it says psychological evaluation, competency, or risk assessment, you need an evaluator, and in Palm Beach County many of those run through the county’s court psychology office on a court order. If it says individual counseling, anger management, co-parenting, reunification or family therapy, you need a private treating clinician. Confusing the two costs people a week or more.

Where Does A Jupiter Court Case Get Heard?

Most Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach and Palm Beach Gardens matters are heard at the North County Courthouse, 3188 PGA Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. That location handles family court, mental health, guardianship and domestic violence injunctions. Always check your notice, because some matters are set downtown.

Can Either Parent Consent To A Child’s Therapy In Florida?

Usually yes. Under Florida Statute 61.13(2)(b)3.a., if the court orders shared parental responsibility over health care decisions, either parent may consent to mental health treatment for the child unless the parenting plan says otherwise. The parenting plan controls, so read its health care paragraph before the first appointment.

How Long Does Court Ordered Therapy Take?

It depends on the order. Some specify a session count or a number of weeks. Others leave the endpoint to the clinician, which Florida appellate courts have found unenforceable when the standard is vague. Your clinician sets a plan in the first session and defines in writing what completion means for your order.

How Fast Can I Get A First Appointment In Jupiter?

First sessions are usually available within the same week. Tell us your court date on the call and the office schedules around it, then sends an appointment confirmation you can show your attorney or case manager.

Does FC PsychExperts Run Batterers’ Intervention Or Parent Education Programs?

No. FC PsychExperts is not a Florida DCF-certified batterers’ intervention program and not a DCF-approved parent education course provider. If your order names either specifically, we tell you on the first call and point you to the state’s certified list rather than booking an appointment that won’t satisfy the court.

Is Court Ordered Therapy Confidential?

Mostly. Sessions carry the same protection as any therapy, but your order and the release you sign at intake define exactly what gets reported to the court. You are told in writing what leaves the room before treatment starts, and nothing is sent that you have not authorized.

Can The Same Clinician Treat Me And Evaluate Me?

Not at this practice. A treating clinician works on how you function. An evaluator answers a legal question for the judge. Merging the roles damages both, and courts are rightly skeptical of clinicians who blur them. Where an order calls for both, we staff them separately and say so in writing before you start.

What If My Deadline Already Passed?

Call the same day. Say what happened, when your next hearing is, and what the order requires. We will tell you whether we can meet it, and if we cannot, which state list or county office can. A vague order is also worth fixing before anyone files anything, because Florida contempt requires a clear order.

One phone call settles it

Get Started This Week

Photograph the order and bring it to the call. The office tells you which category you are in, confirms whether we can satisfy it, and books the earliest appointment that clears your hearing date. You leave with written confirmation for your attorney or your case manager.
